The Ibero-American Center for Advanced Peace and Innovation Studies – CIEPI will stand as the most advanced and prominent center in the Ibero-American community for the creation of new knowledge and the promotion of peace from a constructive, scientific, and holistic perspective.

The Ibero-American Center for Advanced Peace and Innovation Studies – CIEPI is a strategic initiative of the Forum of Universities for Peace (FOUP), bringing together higher education institutions from across the Ibero-American world, including Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Panama, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Venezuela, Spain, Portugal, Equatorial Guinea, and Andorra.

University research and scholarship play a fundamental role in building a culture of peace. Universities are crucial agents of change — shaping conscious, peace-committed individuals and serving as spaces for knowledge generation, creativity, and innovation. By bringing together universities, businesses, and governments, this initiative drives cross-sector collaboration in advancing knowledge about peace, fostering a collaborative and innovative approach.

CIEPI aims to strengthen academic networks and drive institutional alliances that consolidate positive peace policies — guided by the universal principles of fraternity, equality, and the pursuit of knowledge.

The creation of the Ibero-American Center for Advanced Peace Studies and Research is an innovative initiative that will make a significant contribution to building a lasting and sustainable culture of peace.
